The White Horse Shortlisted for Pub of the Year
This year marks the 15th anniversary of Marketing Cheshire's prestigious Annual Awards, which recognises excellence and outstanding achievement by local businesses and individuals working in Cheshire's visitor economy, now worth over £3.5 billion. The much-awaited short-list for the awards was announced today (Wednesday 31 July). The winners will be revealed at a glittering award ceremony on Thursday 3rd October at The Mere Golf Resort & Spa in Knutsford. The event last year attracted over 300 guests representing Cheshire's top attractions, hotels and businesses.
Mark Livesey, Chief Executive, Marketing Cheshire, said: "There are 16 categories in this years Award Ceremony, including new awards for Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year and Pub of the Year. As always, competition has been fierce because Cheshire is home to nationally recognised tourist brands and world class tourism professionals. The Annual Award Ceremony is a great way to recognise and celebrate achievements in the Cheshire's visitor economy."
The White Horse, based at Chester Racecourse, was amongst those shortlisted in the brand new category of Pub of the Year. Leigh Davies, General Manager, says: "We are thrilled to have been selected as a finalist, it is a fantastic achievement for our pub and we are very proud to be listed amongst the other nominees. Fingers crossed for the awards in October!"
It was a triple success for Chester Race Company, as Chester Racecourse was also shortlisted for both Large Visitor Attraction of the Year and Wedding Venue of the Year.
